The QM Session File stores the QM settings used in the most recent modeling session. The QM Session File is specific to the QM model used and therefore it is stored in the same directory as the most recent Model File. The QM Session File is named as .<model-name>. For example, the QM Session File for a model named my_model will be named .my_model (dot-my_model) and saved in the same directory as the QM Model File my_model.qm.

QM Session File in the Model Directory

The QM Session File contains the following information:

The code generation license associated with the model (see also Code Generation License Dialog Box and Generating Comments)
The locked status of model items (see Locking Model Items)
The geometry of the most recently opened MDI windows (Diagrams and Files)
The most recently used Search Options
The External Tools configured for the model.

Note: The QM Session File is saved in the Model File directory. This allows each model to have its own external tools and use the QP framework under different licensing terms than other models on the same machine.

Attention: The QM Session File saved on disk should not be edited manually outside the QM™ tool. Therefore, to prevent inadvertent modifications, the QM Session File is saved as read-only.
